From Tears to Self-Love: How I Moved On From Divorce

I was totally knocked sideways when my husband said he wanted a divorce.

Finding out he was leaving was a very devastating moment!

8 months ago, I felt like I was dying.

My husband dropped the bomb. “I don’t love you anymore, I want a divorce."

And just like that, I found out he was in love with another woman.

My husband and children were my world.

The pain, the rejection, and the hurt made me feel like I wasn’t good enough.

Sure, I knew something was wrong - you may not have gone through such a heartbreak…

But I bet you’ve had a deep feeling that you can’t put your finger on even though it keeps you awake at night.

Well, that’s exactly how I felt.

For a long time, I saw he wasn’t as loving as he used to be.

But I ignored my fears because he was my world.

The pain of the betrayal and rejection made me feel less of a woman.

I just couldn’t believe this was happening. I’d fallen in love with him 12 years ago when my self-esteem was rock bottom.

But he made me feel loved, wanted, and beautiful.

I felt like I owed him my life, so I gave him everything.

That’s why the divorce hit me so hard.

I felt angry, sad, and lonely. I wanted the ground to swallow me up. Argh!

For days I didn't shower, didn’t talk to anyone and, I’m ashamed to admit it, but I even neglected my own kids.

He packed and left us for the other woman

But then one morning after he left, I woke up with a light inside me.

I suddenly had this hunger to heal and find my truth.

I began my self-love journey.

It all started when my older sister came to visit. She kept going on and on about self-love and putting myself first.

At first, I really wanted her to shut up.

She wasn’t divorced, so how could she know what I was dealing with.

But the more she kept talking, the more I realized how much I had neglected myself.

And that night, I embarked on a journey to find ways to nurture myself.

I joined a couple of self-help groups on Facebook.

And started watching Oprah shows.

I did a ton of other things to try and fill the hole that I felt…

But none of them worked for me.

Fortunately, I came across a self-love and self-care subscription box on Facebook.

With great positive comments from recent subscribers.

Upon further research I found out that this box could help me re-focus exclusively on myself by…

  • Growing with new self-love rituals
  • Kick-starting my spiritual journey

  • Eliminating stress and discovering mindfulness.

What caught my eye about this subscription box is it had monthly affirmations and detailed information guides.
