Single parenting doesn't suck ...

I cannot believe it is going to be October tomorrow …

I have been a single parent for 6 months. The time has just flown by. Amazingly, I don't suck at it!

October is known as the harvest month, the month where you reap what you sow. Well I am definitely feeling like I planted a good crop albeit small and the harvest is going to be bountiful. Everything is looking up. I am happier, healthier and more at peace than I have ever been. I am a more spiritual and giving person, than I ever was. I am not saying that I have reached the end of my journey … I still have VERY long way to go but to be able to look back at the last 6 months and see how much I have grown and changed, is so amazing.

I am looking forward to the next six months and to celebrate my half year anniversary I have bought myself a beautiful Natural Opal Beads Bracelet. It is absolutely gorgeous.

Opal is the birthstone of October. Opals are gorgeous stones and the majority of them come from Australia but they are also found here at home and in Peru, Mexico and Brazil. The name opal is thought to be derived from the Sanskrit upala, meaning “precious stone,” and later the Greek derivative “Opallios,” meaning “to see a change of color.” There are hundreds of color varieties of this stone. The opal will inspire originality and boost your creativity. It gets your creative juices flowing, and it will give you energy every time you need that little extra boost.

The energies of this stone will also encourage you to express your true self. You will feel more confident and comfortable in your own skin, and this will be reflected in your words, thoughts, and actions.

Opal has also been associated with love and passion … maybe it is time for me to begin to think about the possibility of one day finding love! It is a seductive stone that intensifies emotional states and releases inhibitions. It can also act as an emotional stabilizer. Wearing an opal is said to bring about loyalty and faithfulness. I could certainly do with more friends who are loyal, it amazes me how a break up creates such divisions between friends. It is like the house, you have to divide them up you cannot share friends after a marriage break down.

Birthstones have always fascinated me so I thought I would let you know a little about them.

January: Garnet

The deep dark rose-red of a garnet is like a beautiful love note to the heart. Its qualities are devotional love, passion and radiant beauty, helping you express these qualities openly with those around you.

February: Amethyst

The beautiful violet amethyst is said to awaken the third-eye center. It enhances intuition and clairvoyant abilities, the amethyst is an awakener to the psychic dimensions.

March: Aquamarine

The green blue of an aquamarine is an energizer to your emotional self. It stimulates your thinking function, helping you feel more intelligent. I am a March baby and I often think of the mermaid stories my mom told me when I little, I always imagined them wearing only aquamarine jewelry.

April: Diamond

Diamonds are truly a girl's best friend creating a sparkle and cheerful glow to your energy field. A diamond will help uncloud a cluttered mind, energize a depressed heart and brings the spring back in your step as your walk the path of your life.

May: Emerald

Associated with the heart chakra, the emerald with its deep dark green tones is one of the most powerful healing gemstones. It heals the physical body by opening the heart to the healing power of love and the potentials for self-healing that reside within us all.

June: Alexandrite

Alexandrite combines the rose-pink and violet rays to transmit a vibration of love. It bridges the intuitive center of the mind with the heart center stimulating compassion and helping you become more sensitive to other's feelings.

July: Ruby

The bright and deep red ruby activates your creative center and empowers you to manifest what your heart desires. Ruby helps you feel more passionate about life, more attractive, appealing to the opposite sex.

August: Peridot

The yellow and green colors of peridot combine to help even the most sensitive person feel more stable and at peace. It soothes your worries and tames your fears.

September: Sapphire

The blue sapphire raises your consciousness to accept your divinity, brilliance and other exceptional qualities. It teaches you just how you can use your enlightened wisdom to help others see the true meaning of life.

October: Opal

The opal is expressive and creatively stimulating. Wearing an opal is energizing and enlivening.

November: Citrine

The yellow-orange colored citrine transmits a powerful energy for attracting the things you really want for your life. Citrine helps to attract experiences and situations where you can demonstrate your worth.

December: Turquoise

Turquoise denotes wisdom and higher truth. It helps you give voice to your wisdom and accept greater authority amongst those in your inner circle.

Here's to another 6 months of growth and spiritual healing :)

Please continue with me on my journey of peace and fulfilment.

Wishing you light and love
